Final Wednesday of Monthly Residency at House of Targ June 2025

Just a quick note to say this coming Wednesday June 25 at 9PM will be our last in a longstanding series of monthly gigs at the House of Targ.  We will still be playing there, as well as other places, but the late night Wednesday All-Ages shows just haven't developed into something sustainable for the venue, so we have agreed to do things a little differently going forward.  We just recorded the bed tracks for our new third release, so stay tuned for more music and different venues in the coming months where you can come see us.

Going back into the studio in May 2025

After successful releases of our first two EPs, we are going back in to record more of our video game arrangements in just a few weeks.  Our April 30 show at Targ will be a kind of dress rehearsal, and then the turnaround can be pretty quick, you can expect new music from us this summer.

Freeplay Dec 26 with F8-Bit and 2025

Tonight is our last F8-Bit show of the year, we are playing House of Targ, which opens at 8PM for a special customer appreciation night, which has a $15 cover, multiple DJs and machines set to free-play.  This is a 19+ show unlike our usual shows, as it takes place later in the evening.

Today our latest release featuring music from the Legend of Zelda series is available wherever you listen to your music including here.

Mark your calendars for our regular shows the last Wednesday of every month in 2025 unless you hear otherwise.

We recommend you stay connected with the House of Targ as well.

Happy New Year!

My favourite game of 2024 was Yakuza Infinite Wealth, although I did try Balatro and it was a fun time as well. Both these games are great for old casual gamers like me. It's a bit outside our usual rep but I'm hoping we can cover Baka Mitai in the near future, there are some killer 8-bit versions that make me think it would be a great F8-Bit tune and I made Jake listen to it in the car multiple times on the way back from our Montreal show last weekend. Cos-fail contest announced for next F8-Bit show

The House of Targ has updated their event listings to reflect our Hallowe'en themed all-ages show next week.

Lately I have been playing a little Vampire Survivors because I can play it with one hand while on the treadmill, ours doesn't have support arms so if I play anything too involved I'll fall off.  (Steve)

New Website

Welcome to the new online home of F8-Bit!

We are excited you came to check us out, for now the latest is that we are confirmed for our House of Targ residency shows on the last Wednesday of every month for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year, except for December when we will be doing a big Thursday Dec 26 Boxing Day show.  We also are hoping to get to Montreal that month.  More details to come and check out our calnedar for start times and locations.

In video game news I haven't been all that much… but the most recent games I have been playing are Crosscode on Xbox and Thank Goodness You're Here on Nintendo Switch.  Great music on both. (Steve)
